Willard Phule has managed to whip his company of losers into shape. In fact, they've turned into something akin to a crack force within the Space Legion - albeit one that is more concerned with results than in how they get them. Some at headquarters, however, are more than a little offended by Phule's off-the-wall tactics, and desperately want to see him fail. So the send him to Lorelei, a space station filled with casinos, to keep the newest one in there from being taken over by the local mob. As usual, Phule doesn't take the obvious, conventional approach to the problem. Still, he has a lot of money to throw at the problem, which is exactly what he proceeds to do.

The real action starts going really very early in the story, and the climax starts building not even two-thirds through the book. The pace is very fast, both of the story and of the writing. All the characters we grew to love in the first book are back. In fact, there's no new characters, other than an added villain or two. And it's a hoot to watch the crew run around what is essentially Las Vegas In Space.

Once again, this is not a believable story. It is, however, a fun one. It's also a quick read. Quick and fun. Who can want more?
