The second book in a trilogy inside the series finds David, the new Animorph, doing some definite bad things. The regular crew isn't exactly sure what to make of him, since he seems to be taking more risks than he should, not to mention being unneccessarily nihilistic with his powers. Something's not right with this kid.
But they have bigger problems to worry about. The convention of world leaders is coming up fast, and if they don't stop them, the Yeerks will get the whole kit and kaboodle at once, effecting a de facto Earth takeover.
This book I like. It's complicated both emotionally and action-wise. If the other books could be like this, it'd be a great series for adults as well as kids. As it is, it's barely even brain candy by now. On average, anyway. There are exceptions, like this one.
