Doug's Book Reviews

I've read a lot of books. I mean a lot of books. Some were good, some bad, and some I couldn't finish. I decided to write reviews of the books I own. This is mostly for my own use, since I started losing track of whether I'd actually want to re-read this book or that one, or just why I didn't. But I'm putting them up here for your use as well, dear browser. Enjoy them.

You can browse my list of reviews by title, author, rating and date. Additionally, you can view books by the series they belong to. You'll find the explanation of my ranking system at the bottom of this page.

Rating Chart

A An excellent book. There were few, if any, problems with this that I could see, and any that were there were ignorable in light of the overall quality of the story. I would heartily recommend this book, and I may try to get it in hardcover, if available.
B A pretty good book. Problems were noticeable, but easily overlooked or dismissed. Alternately, it's a good book that just didn't go the extra mile to stand out. I liked this one and look forward to reading it again, and will recommend it to people.
C A borderline book. The problems in this book were pretty jarring, and may affect the plot. I found them either too numerous, too noticable, or just too annoying to to pass them by. I might recommend this book, but probably only to people I already know are interested in the subject matter.
D A poor book. There were some major problems in this title that were impossible to ignore or made me just plain dislike it. I had to force myself to wade through it. I would hesitate to point this title out to anyone, and may end up selling it to a used book store.
F A failed book. This title was so riddled with problems, or perhaps the content was so reprehensible, that I simply could not finish it. Or the book just might not have been my cup of tea. I would have a hard time recommending this to anyone, though in certain circumstances I might not warn people away. Read at your own risk!
